Upsolar ushers in Olympics

with SportsAid sponsorship

The Olympic Games are set to begin in London this Friday, July 27. Earlier this month, UK Upsolar sponsored the Milton Keynes Sporting Dinner at Stadium mk — home of the Milton Keynes Dons Football Club — to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic Torch.

More importantly, the 300-person event also served as a fundraiser for SportsAid, a UK-based non-profit organisation that supports young athletes as they strive to achieve their dreams at the professional level.

Keynote speaker Sharron Davies, a silver medal swimmer in the 1980 Olympics, was on hand to toast local athletes competing on behalf of Great Britain in the London games, and to recognise the young people whose lives are being positively impacted by the SportsAid organisation. By the end of the evening, more than £15,000 was raised to support future SportsAid endeavors, including the 1,500 grants awarded each year to up-and-coming sporting stars from ages 12 to 16.

Together, Upsolar and SportsAid will ensure the future of British sport remains as bright as solar power.
