Pedini London showroom

Showcased by Aldo Zilli

Successful kitchen designers Lida Cucina, trading as Pedini London, recently celebrated the opening of their brand new Pedini London showroom in Battersea with a lavish launch party attended by clients, local businesses, estate agents, leading housebuilders, architects, interior designers and the media.
Celebrity chef Aldo Zilli was on hand to demonstrate the state of the art kitchens and Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances by preparing a selection of his signature dishes.
The new showroom follows on from the unprecedented success of the Lida Cucina showroom, offices and design studio in White Waltham, Maidenhead and became a necessity due to demand after various commissions and referrals for luxury Pedini Kitchens. Last year Lida Cucina became one of only two agents in the UK for the luxury kitchen brand Pedini, which since 1957 has boasted an enviable reputation and is favoured by high-end designers and architects.
Lida Cucina installs between 50 and 60 kitchens a year, ranging in price from £25,000 to £150,000, and employs 22 people, including a total project management service and dedicated fitting team. Pedini London kitchens start from around £45,000.
Sales Director Michael Gianquitto comments: “Our ample new 3,500 sq foot showroom in Battersea allows us space to present larger displays. Some interior design showrooms can be a little overwhelming when they are filled to the rafters with overly ornate, classic and contemporary themes. They become a real mish mash of different styles where you literally trip over object d’art as you walk through the aisles. This is all too confusing for clients. We have kept our space clutter free to showcase nine individual Pedini kitchens each with their own distinctive features and cutting edge contemporary styles.”
He adds, “in the course of the last ten years, the structure of the house has slowly changed, and the kitchen, living room and dining room seem to merge. One is left with a large space reserved not only for cooking but for socialising, so aesthetics have become very important. Pedini not only delivers permanent furnishing solutions, but also remains robust in its reliability and technical solutions.”
Ergonomics have influenced Italian-crafted Pedini kitchen design trends and sustainability has also played a part. Cabinetry and counter-tops are made of 100% recycled wood with no added VOCs. Bespoke colour services, finishing and a seven years’ warranty (although a typical Pedini kitchen can last for 30 years) are all strong selling points for giving a home that individual touch.
The Pedini London Battersea showroom is soothing, quietly luxurious and filled with contemporary and exciting products that cleverly demonstrate how kitchens have become glamorous living spaces.
Elegant designs such as the iconic curved Pedini model Artika created in 1957, the now classic Integra “hook” and the Dune with a unique feature island, all represent a fresh approach to the use of space with textures and colour equally important.
Fantastic poured resin floors, visual and audio equipment, the latest ‘hot to have’ gadgets such as the Kaelo integrated champagne cooler with LED lighting and a range of accessories and appliances from manufacturers including Miele, Gaggenau and Sub Zero and Wolf are also available.
Lida Cucina has demonstrated its resilience by trading through the difficult market conditions of 2008-2009 and emerged stronger and optimistic about the future, with a number of substantial projects already undertaken. Michael Gianquitto says, “We had our best year to date in 2011 and although we have been affected by the current economic situation, Pedini London has given us the additional momentum to grow our business. We expect 2012 sales to be up 50% to 75% compared to 2011.”
The company’s existing client base tends to come mostly, but not exclusively, from the affluent areas skirting the M25 and with the launch of their new showroom they look forward to welcoming prospective new private clients, housebuilders and bespoke developers from London based executive homes and pied-à-terres.
Pedini London is firmly placed at the top end of the market and with the creative flair of Lida Cucina designers, every kitchen is sure to fulfil the wishes of even the most discerning of clients.
