As the BBC’s heart-warming home makeover show ‘DIY SOS: The Big Build’ returns to television screens this autumn, Geberit has once again been offering its help to the cause.
Helping 14-year-old Jack Morris, who was born with a rare form of muscular dystrophy, gain greater independence when using the bathroom, Geberit was only too happy to donate one of its market-leading AquaClean shower toilets to the cause. Jack’s mum, Helen, describes Jack as ‘amazing’ and ‘brave’, but what Jack really wants to be is normal; to be able to do the things any other 14 year old boy does.
Because of his condition Jack can’t get upstairs to sleep in his own bed or to use the bathroom. Before the DIY SOS team arrived, he was confined to the ground floor, with very little privacy or independence. The bathroom was impossible for Jack to access by himself, and he had to rely on his mum to help him with bathing and using the toilet.
The newly created ground floor bathroom features a Geberit AquaClean 8000plus Care, enabling Jack to enjoy a greater sense of independence and to make day-to-day life easier for his mum Helen too.
