Bathroom trends for the next twelve months

The latest colours and materials used in the bathroom

At Ellis Furniture we’re noticing a trend for versatile warm, neutral tones in glass finishes as they create the perfect backdrop to help unwind and relax in the bathroom space. Our new Reflection in Gloss Maize is a perfect example.

In addition there’s a desire for warm yet bright whites that work well in both contemporary and traditional settings and our new Murano in gloss white, which combines the beauty of high gloss white with the simplicity of the square framed door and rectangular inset handle, is a popular choice for all sizes and styles of bathrooms.

Our new Hydra in Chocolate Grey features the latest melamine (MFC) doors offers affordable designer styling and on trend natural tones. The horizontal grain of Hydra has become wide-spread in contemporary bathrooms after years at the cutting edge of interior design. The Chocolate Grey gives the sleek style of the grain a rich, sumptuous finish. Shown here in a contemporary setting, the 18mm slab doors with matt finish and 2mm matching edging work equally well in a more traditional design too.

Our new Nema in Cirrus also features the latest melamine (MFC) doors and combines white earthy tones with the depth of the modern wood grain texture providing a natural and sustainable feel.

Natural wood grain finishes also remain popular and our new Elegance in Natural Oak reveals the beauty of this square framed door in one of our most popular natural oak finishes offering plenty of design flexibility and a natural feel.

Creative use of interesting shapes and textures

There’s a real demand for funky worktops. And in response to growing demand for hotel-style bathrooms, we’ve launched a new, one-piece 50mm HI-MACS® curved worktop.

Available in Alpine White, the stunning worktop is a piece of furniture itself. Solid and sleek, the simple design of this curvaceous worktop is the perfect statement piece for the most contemporary of bathrooms. Hand crafted using a double layer of Alpine White HI-MACS® material, the stunning worktop is polished all round to create a beautiful smooth touch finish.

Teamed with a gloss white handless drawer from our new Reflection range of bathroom furniture to provide ample storage space for bathroom essentials; the gloss white decorative wall panel; the new, easy to mount curved mirror which can be hung vertically or horizontally; the new Sigma sit on basin; and, the new Lazer basin mixer the effect is stylish and impactful.

Another popular trend is curved units. Our new Reflection Gloss White features a 22mm lacquered handle-less door and plenty of on trend curve appeal, which has spilled over from kitchens into bathrooms. The new Reflection Gloss White with curved end panels perfectly demonstrates modern design in a simple, sleek layout. A white carcass rather than a contrasting carcase and a solid surface worktop are recommended if choosing the curved end panel finish. Reflection Gloss White perfectly demonstrates how traditional fitted and contemporary modular designs can work together in perfect harmony. The fitted WC and basin unit perfectly complement the large modular unit to the right of the image. All providing plenty of essential, stylish storage space. Adding further to the curve appeal, the curved corner mirror with 18mm backboard and 4mm unbevelled glass can be hung vertically or horizontally and comes complete with four fixing points using the integrated flush fixing kit.

Upcomg trends

We expect to see more of the same really. Continuing demand for hotel-style, chic, contemporary bathrooms demonstrating use of interesting materials and funky designs and finishes.

Consumers want flexibity combined with tones and finishes that will stand the test of time and therefore the warm, neutrals in gloss and wood grain finishes will remain popular.

This flexibility spills over into unit shape and size too. From single drawers to tall, wall-hung units consumers are experimenting more than ever before with bathroom furniture.

The use of technology to design the perfect bathroom is also a growing trend. More people than ever before are using our Bathroom Styler App, which allows you to create life-like, on-screen visuals of bathrooms using the entire range of Ellis Furniture products. We’re finding that consumers are using the App and then taking their designs to their local retailer retailers are finding the App hugely beneficial to help design their showroom displays.
