Velux® to help extension dreams see the light of day

VELUX roof windows 1

Homeowners in the UK who are thinking about building a new, or upgrading an existing single-storey extension in their home could win up to four stunning VELUXINTEGRA® solar or electric roof windows and £1,000 worth of John Lewis vouchers.

The new competition from VELUX® asks homeowners to explain why VELUX roof windows would make a difference to their extension to be in with a chance of winning.

The competition coincides with the latest campaign from leading window manufacturer VELUX to inspire and support homeowners with practical tips, advice and tools to help them create their dream single-storey extension with VELUX roof windows, which can let in twice as much daylight as vertical windows of the same size*.

For the majority of home improvers (59%), the main reason for renovating is to either update their interior décor or modernise their homes. However, one out of every ten (10%) home improvers is embarking on a project to create or improve space that they can spend more time together in as a family.

Entrants just need to share their dreams about creating a brighter environment and, if applicable, a photograph of their existing extension to be in with a chance of winning up to four VELUX INTEGRA® solar or electric roof windows and £1,000 to spend in John Lewis. Grant Sneddon, product manager from VELUX said: “We are urging people to enter our new competition to win VELUX INTEGRA® roof windows as they can easily transform their home.

“VELUX roof windows let in twice as much daylight as vertical windows of the same size, making that new room feel even more spacious, and providing you and your family with a more comfortable, homely environment. With a busy period of home improvement over the coming months, there are thousands of UK homeowners considering adding more daylight to their existing or new extensions and we’re providing a helping hand!”

Grant added: “With upwards of 20,000 existing extensions without roof windows across the UK and Ireland, it’s never too late to add daylight and ventilation to an existing space. There is a growing trend for homeowners to extend rather than move, and the market for extensions and roof windows is only set to grow, with many homeowners looking to spend big in the next six months.”

Nearly half (47%) of the UK’s homeowners taking part in a survey by VELUX are planning to carry out home improvements over the next six months.

Entries to the competition can be made up until 23:59 hrs on Monday 31 October 2016.
