During the last decade, there have been huge changes in the bathroom market.  Customer demand for improved looks, greater choice and value, combined with the introduction of new legislation, has created new areas of potential.

In response, new importers like RAK have introduced a variety of new products to satisfy demand, with a strong focus on modern lifestyle and practicality.

New innovations to join RAK’s range include a collection of WRAS-approved Rimless WC’s.  Part of RAK’s popular Compact bathroom selection, the new range includes six toilets which feature a small footprint, contemporary styling and a rimless design.  On flushing, water is fired from three separate jets, ensuring that the whole surface of the pan is flushed, both vertically and horizontally.    As germs cannot collect under a rim, the completely visible surface is easy to clean and the need to direct cleaning products under hidden channels is eliminated, saving money as well as improving hygiene levels.  In addition to standard formats for hygiene-conscious consumers, three extended projections are available for wheelchair users, in both back-to-wall and close-coupled designs.

All models throughout the range have a soft close wrap-over toilet seat.  Compact, close-coupled hands-free options are also available, which feature Cistermiser sensor-controlled water managed systems, as well as models with hidden cisterns and support mechanisms.  RAK’s Rimless WC also complies to the Department of Health’s HTM64 Standard and will be showcased at KBB Birmingham 2012, from 4-7 March (Stand No. E95).

Other toilet options within the Compact collection include traditional back-to-wall, wall-hung and close-coupled WC’s, in both standard, mini, extended height and full-access formats.  In its pursuit of product excellence, the entire RAK WC range is also being converted to reduce water wastage; a revised trap design and modified Geberit cistern fitting will reduce flushing volume by 33.5% to just 4.0/2.5 litres.

A wide choice of complementary basins are also offered as part of  RAK’s Compact range, including full pedestal, half pedestal, semi-recessed designs, corner and slim line models.

In addition to Compact, RAK’s Series 600 range is also ideal for small footprints – or for creating more floor space in the bathroom.  The Series 600 basin has a sleek pedestal design, with a deep square bowl and is available with one or two tap holes.  The matching close-coupled WC has a wrap over seat with optional soft close feature.   Teamed with RAK’s minimalist Metropolitan bath, the suite will fit comfortably into a 2m x 1.7m room, providing compact luxury, high quality and value.

To complete the clean, contemporary look achieved with both Compact and Series 600, RAK offers a range of surface finishes, including its new Lounge, Dolomite and Nanopix tile collections.

Offered in a spectrum of shades, RAK’s Lounge Collection includes a range of polished and unpolished porcelain wall and floor tiles in 30 x 30cm, 60 x 60cm and slab formats.  Colour options include ivory, beige, light grey, dark grey, brown, black and mixed tones, with each shade available in a plain tile and mosaic design.  Lounge slabs can also be fabricated to create a variety of surfaces, including staircases, vanity units and window sills.    As well as providing a stylish and easy to maintain surface option, Lounge also provides high performance benefits, including high abrasion resistance, durability and low water absorption.

Reflecting a similar on-trend colour pallet, RAK’s Dolomite Range includes ceramic wall tiles and porcelain floor tiles, in rectangular formats and featuring a stunning matt finish.  Wall tiles measure 20 x 50 x 9.2cm and floor tiles measure 30 x 60 x 9.5cm, with colour options including ivory, brown, grey and black.

Meanwhile, RAK’s Nanopix range features a stunning collection of marble-look surfaces, created using cutting-edge high density printing to produce an authentic, random marble effect.  The range includes matt-finished porcelain floor tiles and gloss-finished ceramic wall tiles, dados and skirtings.    Products are available in various square, rectangular and strip formats, in pale mottled Onyx, silver veined Bianco Vena and creamy New Diano.  Like Lounge, both Dolomite and Nanopix provide strength, durability and are easy to maintain.

Established in 1991, RAK Ceramics is the world’s largest manufacturer of ceramic and porcelain tiles.  Its range also includes ceramic sinks, sanitary ware, brassware and acrylic baths, with products currently exported to more than 150 countries.  For more product information, please contact RAK Ceramics UK Ltd on tel. 01730 237850 or visit www.rakceramics.co.uk
