Renaissance Villages welcomes new Finance Director

Steve Hazelton has been appointed to the position of Finance Director

Renaissance Villages, the award-winning property company specialising in luxury retirement villages, has welcomed the arrival of Steve Hazelton who has been appointed to the position of Finance Director.

Steve brings with him a wealth of experience having worked in senior finance positions for 29 years. Steve’s most recent post was as Financial Director at Talbot Design Seale Limited, a specialist in commercial construction for residential and commercial developments. Steve has also held senior positions at both Rosenbluth International and The BOC Group.

Steve aims to use his experience in the construction industry to work with the project teams to help optimise relations with construction partners involved in the development of Renaissance Villages’ sites across the UK.

Steve will be responsible for overseeing both the company’s finances, and those of its developments; currently Durrants Village in Faygate, Horsham, West Sussex; Bramshott Place in Liphook, Hampshire; Millbrook Village in Exeter, Devon; and Maudslay Park in Great Alne, near Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. His role will include reviewing and developing processes to help improve profitability and to ensure the delivery of projects on time and to budget.

Commenting on his new position, Steve said: “Renaissance Villages is a fantastic and highly successful business model. I’m delighted to be joining at such an exciting time for the business, and I’m looking forward to seeing its schemes develop from concept through to completion.”

He added: “The great thing about Renaissance Villages is that our sites make a real difference to the quality of people’s lives, both as they move towards retirement and beyond. The properties are spacious and of the highest quality finish, with the facilities at each development second to none. For my part, I hope to bring a fresh pair of eyes to the business that will help enhance operational efficiencies, enabling the business to grow and roll out its highly popular retirement village concept to new sites across the UK.”

Among its development activity in 2015, Renaissance Villages will be opening a new clubhouse at Durrants Village, Faygate.  Its exclusive clubhouses provide a wealth of country club style facilities, including a restaurant and bar, fitness centre featuring a pool and gym, meeting and games rooms, and a village shop, all of which lies at the heart of village life.  Together, this creates a sense of community that can make a real difference to a person’s retirement, and it is for this reason that the developments are proving so popular.

Iwan Jones, Managing Director at Renaissance Villages said: “Steve brings a great breadth and depth of experience to our organisation.  His strong background in the construction sector and his track record in finance makes him a great addition to the senior management team.”
