New award recognises decades of commitment

Russell Roof Tiles is recognising and rewarding staff who have had a long and successful career at the firm with the launch of its long service awards.

Designed to honour the loyalty of company employees who have worked at Russell Roof Tiles for 25, 35 and 40 years. The bronze, silver and gold awards acknowledge the hard work and commitment shown by those at the firm who has seen the business grow over so many years.

Some of the employees have been at Russell Roof Tiles for more than 40 years and will have seen the company expand considerably over the decades since the firm’s inception in 1965.

Recent recipients of the awards include, Russell Roof Tiles’ National Operations Support Manager, Alex Gilroy, who started his career at the Lochmaben plant and has been at the company for a commendable 40 years and has been given a gold long service award.

He comments: “A lot has changed during my time at Russell Roof Tiles and I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed it all. I have built a fulfilling career with the company and this award simply re-emphasizes that my hard work is appreciated.”

Gary Gough, Finance Manager, has been presented with a bronze award for his work over the past 25 years. The pair received their awards from the company’s Production Director, Bruce Laidlaw, and Managing Director, Andrew Hayward.

Andrew Hayward commented on the accolades by saying; “These long service awards recognise the continued hard work and passion shown by our employees. We’ve already presented nine awards so far over the last few months and we’re delighted that so many at Russell Roof Tiles have had a satisfying and successful career with us and we would like to say thank you for their loyalty and commitment over the years.”

As well as acknowledging the loyalty of its longest-serving employees, Russell Roof Tiles also offers cash bonuses, up to a maximum of £500, for long service as well as additional days of annual leave, awarding up to an additional five days for employees with 40 or more years’ service.
