Larkfleet Group has relaunched Allison Homes – a company that ceo Karl Hick fronted more than 25 years ago.

Hick was MD of Allison Homes in 1987 when it was acquired by property developer Wiggins GP. Wiggins went into receivership in 1992, but Hick acquired and grew the profitable Allison Homes before selling it in 2001. Hick has now secured the rights to use the Allison Homes name again.

The revitalised business will be similar “in many ways” to Larkfleet Homes, the group’s housing division, and will build a mix of homes across the east of England and East Midlands, ranging from starter homes to large executive houses. And a specialist division – Allison Luxury Homes – will create bespoke properties.

Hicks said: “Allison Homes had an excellent reputation for quality throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Now we are bringing that back to life as part of the Larkfleet Group.”

He added:  “Larkfleet Homes is growing and, as it does so, it becomes more difficult for management to have that ‘hands on’ role which I think is so important.

“So we are launching Allison Homes as a separate entity within the group. It will have its own management team and its own staff to ensure that it – and Larkfleet Homes – can continue to deliver the quality that we feel is so important.”
