When buying a new home, it is important to make sure you know what you’re getting for your money. To help inspire buyers at its Godfrey Place development in Shoreditch, forward-thinking housing developer Genesis and renowned designers Alexander James Interiors have created a bespoke, fully-dressed, liveable space to show the full potential of the new apartments. The show apartment gives prospective purchasers some new ideas on how to create a unique look in their new home, taking inspiration from the trendy East London hub where the development is situated.

Godfrey Place is a stylish new development situated in the heart of Shoreditch, offering a range of high specification, contemporary homes. Speaking about the design of the new show home, Alexander James Interiors’ Managing Director for London, Richard Angel, said: “For us, it was really important to get under the skin of who was going to live in the development, and where the buyer interest to date had come from. It transpired that the majority of this was coming from people who already live in the area, many of whom own local businesses and so live, work and play in Shoreditch. We took that as our design brief: focusing on the local community and the spirit of cool, urban East London.”

He continues: “Genesis gave us free reign on the design, which enabled us to find and create the right vibe for a show home in one of the trendiest parts of London. Using bright mustard velvets, kitsch artwork and a mixture of new and old furniture, we pulled together something very eclectic and exciting, just like Shoreditch itself. It’s edgy, urban and cool like the audience Godfrey Place is attracting. It’s also very important to consider the product too: these are homes, someone is going to live here, so you have to make it look liveable. I think my team have done a great job in creating the balance between fashion and function, to make the space look inviting and comfortable while appealing to the trendy nature of the area.”

All of the homes at Godfrey Place are laid out to suit modern lifestyles, with light, open plan living areas, underfloor heating, and each benefit from a private balcony or terrace. Kitchens are fitted with a full range of Bosch integrated appliances and chrome fittings. Bathrooms are contemporary in style, with pristine white sanitary ware, matte grey ceramic floor and wall tiles and a chrome heated towel rail. The apartments are energy efficient, with triple glazing, a communal heating system, solar panels, LED lighting and secure cycle storage.

The development enjoys a great location set back from the main hub of Shoreditch, offering a tranquil oasis in the centre of the East London district. Shoreditch is well known for its vibrant and colourful nightlife, which is buzzing throughout the day and night. The famous Brick Lane, Spitalfields and Columbia Road Flower Markets are all just minutes from the development, with the option of fine dining at The Clove, a recently awarded Michelin starred restaurants on Old Street. The neighbourhood still has an industrial aesthetic, even though the weavers, tanners and printers have long since left, which adds to its cool, bohemian vibe.

Ideal for commuters, residents at Godfrey Place can walk to Hoxton or Shoreditch High Street Overground stations in under 10 minutes, or access the tube network via Old Street, Shoreditch High Street or Hoxton. Multiple bus routes run from outside the development directly to Tower Bridge, London Bridge, Waterloo, and Battersea, or for cyclists, London Bridge is approximately fifteen minutes away.

Prices start at £550,000 for a one-bedroom apartment at Godfrey Place. For further information visit www.genesishahomes.org.uk or call 0203 813 5239.
